AOPAD (17): The buried giant

IMG_2335.jpgEngland has Stonehenge.

We have Fingerhenge.

Index finger pointing to the sky, the other fingers clenched, and big and solid enough for kids to climb and sit on it and lean upon that insolent digit, this stone thingy stands at the western end of Changi Beach.

The sculpture or statue of a left hand has mysteriously appeared overnight – ok, over some dark and stormy nights (as it’s been more than a month since my last run there) – and I say mystery because there’s no plaque or name on it, nor could Google tell me its origins.
